Texas A&M takes Game 1 vs. Tennessee in College World Series

Texas A&M baseball is one in away from its first national championship in program history after a 9-5 win against Tennessee on Saturday in the College World Series final.

The Aggies used a big hitting day led by Kaeden Kent, who went yard once on his way four-RBI day in the win. Ryan Prager picked up the win at pitcher as the and struck out six batters as the Aggies inched closer to a school first.

Evan Aschenbeck recorded the final out, striking out two straight batters to end the ninth inning. Those were two of his seven strikeouts on the evening.

Texas A&M struck first in with a pair of runs in the opening inning and never looked back. The Aggies later gave up one run in the bottoming of the second inning before adding five more of their own in the top of the third to go up 7-1.

Kaden Kent ended up being the biggest hitter of that inning with his two-RBI single to right center field. He finished a team-high 3-for-5 at the plate with four RBI in the victory.

Texas A&M now finds itself just one win away from the first national championship in school history. Game 2 of the College World Series between the Volunteers and Aggies is set for 2 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be televised on ABC.
