'Amazing player': Gary Neville says £43m Man City star is genuinely 'almost perfect' at everything he does

Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester City have a player who is “almost perfect” at everything he does on a football pitch.

Over the years, Pep Guardiola has had several players at his disposal at the Etihad Stadium who lack too many glaring flaws in their game.

Names like David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva spring to mind. When world-class players set such high standards, perfection is demanded from them by the masses as well.

Gary Neville makes big claim about “amazing” Bernardo Silva

However, the top players relish expectations from the public — even if that brings intense pressure and constant scrutiny.

At Manchester City, their main men deliver more often than not — regardless of the occasion.

Bernardo is one who certainly has since his time at the club since 2017 and Gary Neville stated that he is almost flawless.

On ITV 1 [22/06/2024, 2:29 pm], he said: “There are very few players that you watch in world football that are as almost perfect in everything that they do as Bernardo Silva. He doesn’t make any errors on the ball, he is so efficient, he knows the position, he knows the game inside out, he knows what his team needs at each point in the game. He is an amazing player.”

Gary Neville went on to emphasise how key Bernardo is for City as well.

“Pep [Guardiola] will always find a place for him. That can be wide, that can be in the midfield, but he will always be in the team. We pretty much know that. I would say Rodri is probably the number one player on the teamsheet and I think Bernardo [Silva] won’t be far behind him.”

Bernardo Silva is truly a special player

Roberto Martinez would certainly agree with Gary Neville, especially after Bernardo stood out in Portugal’s 3-0 win against Turkey — where he opened the scoring.

Previously, Martinez claimed the former AS Monaco technician understands his role as well as others’ to perfection — tipping him to become a manager one day.

The £43 million man seems like a player who is always open to adapting his game.

Whether it be as a right-winger, in central midfield or in an advanced midfield role, the Portuguese international seemingly does not make a fuss, learns on the job and continues to get better and better.

As a result, Bernardo has continued to hone his game and become an all-rounder in every respect — prompting Gary Neville to pinpoint that he is virtually faultless.
