'I think': Kevin De Bruyne says Man City have an absolutely 'frightening' dribbler on their books now

Kevin De Bruyne has claimed that Manchester City have a player whose dribbling is “frightening.”

De Bruyne’s dribbling himself is excellent, as demonstrated by his tremendous run against Romania — where he darted past two players before providing Dodi Lukebakio the chance to score.

The Sevilla winger tested Florin Nita but had the ball gone into the back of the net, the Manchester City midfielder would have registered the best assist of Euro 2024. Amongst the decorated attacker’s long list of outstanding traits, one of them that has always separated him from the rest as far as midfielders go is his ability to carry the ball.

Kevin De Bruyne makes fresh claim about Jeremy Doku

While attacking midfielders are known to have a brilliant eye for a pass, not many can carry the ball over large distances like the 32-year-old.

However, the best dribbler at the Etihad Stadium is Jeremy Doku now.

De Bruyne seems to be a huge admirer of Doku as a dribbler when quizzed about how much he has grown since joining City last summer.

The six-time Premier League said via HaytersTV: “A lot. I think he’s done very well. Then, he had a setback with the injury and he had to come through a tough time but I think he ended the season really well.”

“The dribble skills are frightening so I think he had a really good first season at City and many more to come.”

Jeremy Doku should study Raheem Sterling’s game at Man City

As De Bruyne rightly said, Doku is a frighteningly good dribbler and since joining Manchester City, he has been a class act.

However, for the £55.5 million man to further elevate his game, the ex-City player he should study to become the complete package is Raheem Sterling.

Much like Doku, Sterling was also renowned for his unique pace and devastating dribbling ability as a youngster.

But Pep Guardiola managed to turn the Englishman into a brilliant goalscorer, whose movement and positioning arguably became his standout traits over his dribbling and pace.

In the process, Sterling became the complete forward.

For Doku to be regarded as one, his end product, final ball and goalscoring ability must be honed and one way of doing that is by assessing the former Manchester City winger’s growth at the club.
