Slovenia and Ukraine will sign an agreement on security assurances next week. This is likely to happen on Thursday, June 27, states the President of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar.

The President noted that she will visit Kyiv on June 27 to sign a security agreement with Ukraine.

"It is a commitment to continue to help Ukraine for as long as it takes," Pirc Musar said, adding that the agreement is similar to others that Ukraine has already signed.

It is noted that the security agreement was developed by the ministries of defense and foreign affairs, and it is not a binding international treaty, but only expresses the political will to support Ukraine. Ukraine has signed security assurance agreements with more than 15 countries. Among them are the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, etc. The EU and Ukraine are also expected to sign a security agreement on June 26.
