Kharkiv and Oblast hit by Russian strikes: one dead, 12 injured and several buildings damaged

One of the strikes targeted a residential area in Kharkiv, resulting in casualties, power outages, and water supply disruptions in some parts of the city.

At least one civilian was killed, and five others were injured in a bomb strike on a private house. Three others were wounded in another district where the enemy targeted a children's educational institution, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

The metro system has been temporarily suspended, with all stations being used only as shelters. "The resumption of service will be announced later," Terekhov said.

The entire Kharkiv Oblast has been placed on air raid alert, with the Ukrainian Air Force warning of possible ballistic missile attacks from the northeast.

Earlier in the day, the regional prosecutor's office reported that at least four civilians were injured in an overnight Russian airstrike on the Kupyansk and Chuhuiv districts of Kharkiv Oblast.

A 73-year-old woman was wounded in the village of Hlushkivka in the Kupyansk district, where several private houses were damaged. Two 41-year-old men and a 66-year-old man were injured by Russian shelling in the villages of Losivka and Lyman in the Chuhuiv district.

Another Russian shelling attack set fire to the premises of an eco-park in the village of Lisne, killing several animals.

Law enforcement officers have opened preliminary investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
