Erik ten Hag has had a hit-and-miss record with his signings as manager of Manchester United.
Since joining the Red Devils in 2022, Erik ten Hag has made a grand total of 17 signings at Old Trafford. In which there have been undeniable successes, accompanied by undeniable failures.
The highs? Rasmus Hojlund has been sensational, Lisandro Martinez was inspired and Andre Onana is finally living up to his name.
As for the lows… Antony has not done anything to justify his £85m price tag, Casemiro’s career has unfortunately declined and then, there’s the curious case of Mason Mount.
His purchase from Chelsea was a scrutinised one, and with hindsight now in our favour – we see why. Manchester United’s new number seven played just 14 games during the 23/24 campaign, racking up just 513 minutes in the Premier League.
It was a season ridden with injuries, so the Old Trafford faithful never got to see the best side of Mount. Will that change in the 24/25 campaign?

Ahead of the new season with Manchester United, Mount has already been hard at work in his rehabilitation.
The ex-Chelsea man took to Instagram to post two images of him hitting the gym whilst on holiday, with one depicting a treadmill and the other showcasing some weights.
The most important thing for Mount is to sort out his injury woes – and hitting the gym will do just that. Could a redemption arc be on the cards?

It would seem silly for United to part ways with Mount. To add to this, there wouldn’t be many teams that would be in contention for his signature – so we’re certain he’ll be in red next season.
It could seriously be redemption time for the midfielder. You have to think three years ago, Mount was on top of the world.
In the 2020–21 campaign, he won the Champions League and won Chelsea’s Player of the Year. He then was a regular for England at Euro 2020, reaching the final and even starting in it. Now, he’s nowhere near the Euro 2024 squad.
He then won the POTY award the very next season at Stamford Bridge. He became the 12th player to win it more than once, and the first to win it twice in a row since Eden Hazard.
Then was his rapid decline in form – which has been two years of hell for the Englishman. The ability is definitely there – but will Mount turn things around at Carrington?
