Jace LaViolette belts 415-foot solo home run in first to put Texas A&M up early over Tennessee

Steven Branscombe | USA TODAY Sports

Texas A&M sophomore Jace LaViolette didn’t hesitate to break the ice in Game 2 of the College World Series championship. In the bottom of the first inning against Tennessee, LaViolette crushed a solo-run shot to right field to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead.

It was LaViolette’s first home run in the NCAA Tournament and his 29th this season.

If Texas A&M can defeat the Volunteers, it will secure the first national title in program history.
