Although US presidential candidate Donald Trump is currently threatening to cut off aid to Ukraine if he returns to power, he has repeatedly changed his position, states Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

"I have a calm attitude to the possibility of Trump coming to power... If you analyze his public speeches, he has changed his position several times. And the power of your system is that it doesn’t allow one individual to make decisions unilaterally," Budanov said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer.

According to the DIU chief, the US elections are very unpredictable, but he believes that the US and Ukraine will win the war against Russia together.

"And here I am stressing, together! This is what I would like to finish with," he summarized.

The US will hold presidential elections in November this year. Donald Trump, who has already held the presidency, has decided to run again. The current US President Joe Biden also wants to be re-elected for another term.

In mid-June, Trump, speaking at a campaign event in Detroit, said that he would cut off US aid to Ukraine if he won the election. According to him, he plans to do this before the inauguration.
