King’s Lynn lose Danish skipper through injury ahead of Birmingham trip

King's Lynn have suffered a major injury blow with captain Nicolai Klindt ruled out after a crash in Poland.

Klindt, who has been in terrific form for the PSH Environmental Stars, was involved in an accident with Bartosz Glogowski in Gdansk's home defeat by Ostrow on Sunday, being brought down heavily by his team-mate.

The Danish star was taken to hospital where it was confirmed he has suffered a broken arm between his elbow and wrist.

He is also undergoing further tests to assess whether there are any other injuries, but he is fully conscious and is communicating with medical staff, and has already been messaging the Stars management.

Everyone at King's Lynn Speedway would wishes Nicolai all the very best and the club will update with more news when they have it.

In the meantime, the club is grateful to Adam Ellis for answering the call to guest, and he will step in for Nicolai at Birmingham tonight..

Ahead of the meeting, team boss Rob Lyon said: “With the team as it is now, we can go everywhere with a bit of confidence, and that’s what we’ve been lacking.

“We were solid last Monday against Oxford, and that’s the way our team was built at the start of the year. It’s much, much better than it was.

“It’s like anything, when you get a bit of momentum going in any sport then the team responds, so it’s onwards and upwards.”
