Russian shelling of Odesa: casualties

The explosions in Odesa occurred at around 8 a.m. According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, the Russian attack resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure, and firefighting is underway. Victims are being provided with medical assistance.

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office, the attack damaged the warehouses of a retail chain, residential buildings, and cars.

According to the rescuers, the warehouses on the area of 3000 square meters caught fire. More than 90 firefighters and about 20 units of State Emergency Service of Ukraine equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. Firefighters were working under the threat of repeated Russian shelling. A fire train from Ukrainian Railways was also involved.

So far, 3 victims have been reported: A 19-year-old boy and two men aged 50 and 58. Their condition is of moderate severity. Odesa Mayor Henadii Trukhanov also notes that there were no killed as a result of the Russian morning attack on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.

In addition, psychologists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police of Ukraine assisted 46 people.

Russia struck with Iskander-K missiles

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian occupiers attacked the Odesa region with two cruise missiles, probably Iskander-K. Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down one of the missiles.

At 12:11 p.m., Ukrainian rescuers reported that they had extinguished a large-scale fire caused by the Russian attack.

Iskander-K missiles

The Iskander-K is a type of cruise missile that flies on a predetermined trajectory. Its peculiarity is that it has a minimum flight height of 6-7 meters. Such a missile can change its course throughout the flight. Such Iskanders are used as part of ground-based tactical systems.

Russian shelling of Ukraine

Russians resort to air terror every day, using single, massive, or combined attacks.

For example, last night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with three Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the Sea of Azov. Two of the missiles were shot down by anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kyiv region.
