Baseball: 9 Nippon Ham players lead Japanese All-Star voting

Nine Nippon Ham Fighters players were the top vote-getters in their respective categories in the Pacific League when the interim results of fan voting were released Monday for the July 23-24 Japanese baseball All-Star series.

Chusei Mannami, whose laser beam throw from right field has gone viral on social media, led all players with 1,202,643 votes. Among Nippon Ham's other top vote-getters were pitcher Sachiya Yamasaki and first baseman Ariel Martinez.

Yakult Swallows third baseman Munetaka Murakami received 882,625 votes, the most in the Central League.

Game 1 will be played at Nippon Ham's Es Con Field Hokkaido, just outside Sapporo. Yakult's Jingu Stadium in Tokyo will host Game 2.
