Ex-White House aide nails Trump spokeswoman's 'stunning lack of message discipline' on CNN

CNN's Kasie Hunt boots off Trump spokeswoman who refuses to stop bashing her colleagues

The co-hosts of "The View" began Monday by trouncing Donald Trump's new spokesperson, who went up against Kasie Hunt on CNN Monday and was cut off as she launched attacks on the host's colleagues.

The spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, answered questions with furious assaults on CNN debate moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who will preside over the event on Thursday.

Hunt asked about debate strategy and preparation, but Leavitt instead called the moderators biased. Hunt even went so far as to say that if Trump's team is attacking the moderator during a debate, they were likely losing. Still, Leavitt continued.

“I am going to stop this interview if you continue to attack my colleagues,” Hunt said. “I would like to talk about Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who you work for. If you are here to speak on his behalf, I am willing to have this conversation.”

CNN commentator and a former aide in the Trump White House, Alyssa Farah Griffin, sang Hunt's praises for working to bring the interview back on the rails.

"But to me it underscored a stunning lack of message discipline," she said of the new Trump campaign mouthpiece's performance. She was speaking on "The View," of which she is a co-host.

"You're a campaign spokesperson. You should be there to talk about Donald Trump's proactive agenda for the American people. How does he want to build the middle class? She can't. It's grievance, rage, retribution."

Griffin said that undecided voters do watch CNN and they will be the ones who decide the election in November.

"You're not winning any of them over by going after one of their most popular anchors repeatedly and not focusing on what matters to the American people," she said.

Another "TheView c-host, Sara Haines, said it's clear the campaign has quickly pivoted from the idea that President Joe Biden can't stand up for 90 minutes, to lowering expectations for Trump by claiming the debate is "rigged" and pivoting to attack the moderators.

"This is a candidate who's on the campaign trail talking about sharks, Hannibal Lecter, boats sinking," Griffin commented.
