Danish Crown Prince Christian expressed satisfaction on Monday on passing his final school exams.

"I'm very happy and satisfied," the 18-year-old heir to the Danish throne told journalists in Copenhagen.

The prince said he planned to enjoy the summer and celebrate with family, friends and classmates over the weeks ahead.

He was non-committal on his plans for the future, merely saying that he wanted to "see the world" after the summer holidays and prepare for various things.

Like his fellow pupils from the Ordrup Gymnasium, Christian was wearing the white and red cap typical for school-leavers in Denmark.

His father, King Frederik X, 56, his mother, Australian-born Queen Mary, 52, and his siblings, Isabella, 17, Josephine, 13, and Vincent, 13, were present at the high school on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen to congratulate him.
