Make or break for Michael Beale signing with Rangers star spotted at old club

Rangers have started the transfer window at a decent pace as Philippe Clement looks to rebuild a squad in desperate need of repair.

There was a lot of experience that left at the end of the season and the manager will know that more mature players will also have to be signed.

With four summer additions already, Rangers have filled a few gaps, however, one current member of the squad could be at a crossroads as footage on social media shows a positive attitude.

Nicolas Raskin has point to prove at Rangers crossroads

Nicolas Raskin had a difficult 2023/24.

He seemed to have lost all form during the earlier weeks of the campaign before looking back to his old self when Clement arrived.

Unfortunately, Raskin got injured almost immediately and spent the next few months in the treatment room.

On his return to full fitness, Rangers were in decent form and Mohamed Diomande’s arrival meant that the two starting slots were taken.

A few fleeting appearances off the bench were uninspiring but he can console himself with the fact that he was one of Rangers better players in the last few games of the season with John Lundstram suspended.

The 23-year old is happy with life at Ibrox but knows that regular game time won’t come easily:

“It’s going well at Rangers. Philippe Clement has brought a fresh breath, the European way of working there.

“It’s a very different football in the United Kingdom than in Europe. So for me it’s good, I found the habits that I had at Standard.

“Next season, I hope to be able to play as much as possible and have a good European campaign, because we count on that a lot there. We want to be champions at the end of the year, that would be a great season.”

Raskin needs to finish where he left off

Raskin has been seen putting in extra work at his old club Standard Liege, posting on Instagram as he gets put through his paces.

At his best, Raskin is exactly what Rangers need in midfield.

He’s aggressive and can drive out of defence, he also likes to play forward passes quickly.

Alongside Diomande, they dominated Celtic’s midfield for the first time in a long while during the Scottish Cup final as Clement saw in HD the formula that he will need to beat them on a more consistent basis, despite losing out at Hampden.

Connor Barron has been an obvious addition to provide competition and depth but Raslin has an 18-month head start.

It would be a surprise if the Gers boss didn’t bring an experienced campaigner in midfield too but Raskin has the chance to prove that he can be trusted to be Clement’s enforcer.
