Report: Real Betis now want to sign another Leeds player once Marc Roca deal is done

Real Betis could be set for a second transfer raid on Leeds United this summer.

Betis are already closing in on the signing of midfielder Marc Roca, who spent the entirety of last season loan at the Spanish side after a clause in his contract was triggered.

Roca had the option to join Betis on loan for a second time after Leeds’ failed promotion attempt, but is instead set to re-join them permanently on a contract until 2028.

Leeds spent £10 million to sign Roca from Bayern Munich two years ago are actually only going to recoup just under half that figure by selling him this summer.

That said, Leeds are actually ‘content’ with the deal to sell Roca, as they are are confident that while it will represent a loss, it will not impact them too heavily in terms of Profit & Sustainability rules.

Real Betis eyeing move for Diego Llorente after Roca deal

Roca is one of several returning loanees at Leeds looking to have their futures clarified once and for all, after the uncertainty last summer.

On top of his imminent move to Betis, Jack Harrison has also returned to Everton. Brenden Aaronson, meanwhile, has agreed to give it a second shot at Leeds under Daniel Farke.

On the other side of the scale, none of Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen or Diego Llorente have the option to leave on loan again, meaning their futures are slightly more uncertain.

At this stage, Llorente looks the most likely to seal a permanent Elland Road exit with interest again from AS Roma, but according to Eldesmarque, they are set to face competition.

It is said that Betis are actually interested in reuniting Roca with Llorente this summer as they aim to recruit two new centre-backs, with Chadi Riad having already left for Crystal Palace.

Betis are likely to have to wait to see what Roma do as they still remain frontrunners for the 30-year-old, but a decision will need to be made quickly amid new competition.

Llorente wants Leeds exit this summer

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it has already been reported that Llorente is keen on leaving Leeds once and for all this summer.

While Wober and Kristensen still seemingly have a chance of returning, it would appear Llorente has none and so it would be best for all parties if a deal is wrapped up.

Leeds spent £18 million to sign Llorente in the summer of 2020 and in all honesty, they aren’t going to be able to recoup anywhere near that.

So, whether it is Betis or Roma, Leeds probably care little other than to just get him off the books.
