EA Sports College Football 25 ranked Ohio State’s Ohio Stadium, the Horseshoe, as the No. 4 toughest place to play in the game.

It’s one of the most intimidating places to play in college football and the new video game put it in the top five. EA College Football 25‘s ranking of the toughest places to play factors in historical stats such as home winning percentage, home game attendance, active home winning streaks, team prestige, and more.

This is one of the largest stadiums in the country, and it certainly works to the Buckeyes’ advantage.

“With its present seating capacity of 102,780, Ohio Stadium is the fourth-largest on-campus facility in the nation,” a description read. “Since the opening game against Ohio Wesleyan on Oct. 7, 1922, nearly 40 million fans have streamed through the stadium’s portals.”

You know why fans are deafening? The stadium design certainly helps with the horseshoe at the top and the unobstructed views.

Fans are constantly in on the action. But you know what else is cool at Ohio Stadium? The Buckeyes’ marching band.

They are famous for their intricate designs and lettering based on formations. It’s some of the most impressive pageantry in the sport.

“Script Ohio was first performed by the band on Oct. 10, 1936, and has become the quintessential formation of The Ohio State University Marching Band,” a description read. “While many point out that a similar formation of “Ohio” was performed by the University of Michigan Marching Band in 1932, it was not performed as the classic, constantly flowing script that has become the — literal — signature of The Ohio State University Marching Band.”

If a video game can recreate that, that’s impressive.

Ohio Stadium, home to the innovative Buckeyes of course, can showcase some great football. Just wait til you see Ryan Day and Chip Kelly’s offense meshed together this season, on the field and in the game.

One thing, though, was clear to On3’s Andy Staples after playing: This is not just Madden — another EA title — reskinned for college football.

“Does not feel like Madden when you’re playing, and here’s why,” Staples said, “one thing the designers said, and I think this is an important distinction to make, and it’s really an important distinction between actual college football and the NFL: The difference between the best and worst player in a college football game is so much bigger than the best and worst player in an NFL game.

“So you notice in Madden, the matchups are usually pretty even, even when you have a superstar player, that person can’t really dominate the person they’re playing against. In college football, you absolutely can have domination in a matchup. And it will test you.”
