Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala names one Arsenal star he really 'admires'

Germany starlet Jamal Musiala has now named one Arsenal player that he holds in particularly high esteem.

Jamal Musiala has been a sensation at Euro 2024 so far.

The 21-year-old Bayern Munich ace has already netted twice for the host nation, and is dovetailing nicely with Arsenal striker Kai Havertz at the top of the pitch for Germany.

Arsenal fans have been impressed with the performances Havertz has produced at the tournament so far, but there is no doubting that Musiala has been the star of the show for Germany.

The attacking-midfielder has dazzled with his close control and technical ability, and stands out for his clinical finishing. Given his relative youth, it is extraordinary that he is already performing at such a high level.

Of course, Musiala is not the only young player shining on the international stage this summer.

Jamal Musiala praises Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

In an interview with ESPN, Musiala was asked to name other young players that he “admires.” The 32-cap international was quick to name Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka.

Musiala stated: “Lots of young players are doing very well right now. Of course, you have Jude [Bellingham] who is doing amazing right now at Real. You have Pedri… Saka from Arsenal… You see them all doing well and it’s good.”

Arsenal fans believe that Saka has been a bright spark for England this summer, whilst Gareth Southgate’s side have generally failed to impress.

Despite showing flashes of quality though, Wayne Rooney believes that Saka is in danger of losing his starting berth for the Three Lions.

Why Gareth Southgate must stick with Saka

It would be a huge mistake for Southgate to bench the Hale End academy graduate. The 22-year-old has shown that he can be a potent attacking force his country, and is one of the few England players to have already tangibly contributed in Germany, as he provided the assist for Jude Bellingham’s winning goal against Serbia.

Like Musiala, Saka is already a key figure for club and country at a very young age, and he has what it takes to be a difference-maker for England in this competition.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping that Southgate keeps faith in the Arsenal winger. Above all, though, the Spanish coach will be keen for Saka to return to North London fully fit and ready to go for the Gunners ahead of the new season.
