Chance Mallory, a four-star point guard in the 2025 class, tells On3 he’s narrowed his list of schools down to six: Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, Villanova, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

The 5-foot-9 rising senior out of St Anne’s-Belfield School (VA) has unofficially visited each of his finalists besides Miami. Mallory says he’s currently in the middle of scheduling official visits.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Mallory is the No. 61 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 11 point guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s evaluators are higher on him, ranking him 35th nationally.

As a junior at St Anne’s-Belfield School this past season, Mallory averaged 26.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.

What Mallory is looking for in a school

In a previous interview with On3, Chance Mallory broke down what he’s searching for in a college.

“When I go on these visits, I’m going to be looking closely at the team aspect they have,” Mallory said. “I’ll look at the family aspect, how they act around each other. No bad blood. How close a team is a lot of times determines how far they will go in the tournament. I want to play in a style that will be showcase my skills as a player, when each player on the team can play comfortably, that is when the team is best. So I want to play in a system that can showcase what I can do.”
