Luke Combs Breaks Down in New Interview [Watch]

As a country musician that’s mega-popular, Luke Combs can have his schedule set in advance for over a year. With things like tours being scheduled so far ahead, things might come up that weren’t initially planned for.

The Combs’ welcomed baby number two in August of 2023. During that time, Combs was out playing overseas shows that were planned far in advance.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Combs revealed that that day was “one of the best and one of the worst days in [his] life,” and he still finds it “hard to wrap [his] mind around.”

Combs went on to explain that he found out about his son’s birth when he woke up on the other side of the world, getting visibly emotional, “I had a text from my wife and it said, ‘I’m so sorry. I really tried to not have the baby while you were gone.'”

For a new father, there certainly comes not only joy of being in the room when your child is born, but a feeling of needing to be there to support your wife as she prepares to make a miracle happen and give birth to a human.

Combs was not able to do that due to being overseas touring when his pregnant wife went into labor. Fighting through tears, Combs reveals all of the details.

The “Where the Wild Things Are” singer continued, while crying, “God dude, it sucked, it sucked. Cause he was born on August 15th in the states, and I got to see him be born, which was awesome.”

Combs continued, “He wasn’t born yet, but my wife went and she text me on the way to the hospital, and he was two and a half weeks early, and I was supposed to be home and I wasn’t, and that was real hard to do.”
