SecureIT Preview: How We Think About Event Content

An event agenda starts as a proverbial blank page. How do we fill it?

Our goal is to provide a forum to discuss the most pressing issues facing security leaders, which right now includes proactive use of AI as well as defending against adversarial AI. Building smart and innovative teams as well as cultivating a cyber-conscious culture throughout the organization also rank as top priorities.

Then the question becomes who we think would best speak to these issues. Here’s how we think that through.

Our host city for SecureIT is New York. Its largest industries include financial services, health care, professional and business services, retail, and media and entertainment.

We know that means many of our attendees will come from those industries and want to hear about how they have tackled cybersecurity challenges.

We also know that the security executives from those industries represent some of the best strategic thinking and leadership, and we are proud to have them on our agenda.

Who are they at SecureIT?

  • Laura Deaner, vice president and CISO at Northwestern Mutual
  • Nada Noaman, CISO and senior vice president at The Estée Lauder Companies
  • Liz Rodgers, CISO at RAND
  • Brian Miller, CISO at Healthfirst
  • Cynthia Cullen, business information security officer at Thomson Reuters

Add to that a thought-provoking and inspiring opening keynote speaker – in this case Scott Shapiro, author of Fancy Bear Goes Phishing and founding director of the Yale CyberSecurity Lab – as well as presentations from Jon Baker, the director of the Center for Threat-Informed Defense at MITRE Engenuity, and IDC’s Ryan O’Leary, research director for Privacy and Legal Technology.

We also bring in thought leadership sessions from our sponsors, and build in time for focused group discussions, networking, and, of course, lunch.

Suddenly we no longer have a blank page. We have an event.
