If God wants Trump in office, Democrats 'can't stop him': GOP V.P. hopeful

If Donald Trump is destined by a higher calling to return to the presidency, nobody can get in his path.

So says retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who served as Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development during Trump's term in the White House.

Carson claims that he's shared that precise pious sentiment with the 45th president.

"As I have told him, if God wants him in that position, they can't stop him," Carson said during an interview with Fox News's Kayleigh McEnany, who once served as Trump's White House Press Secretary.

Carson was initially asked about his viability after being thought to earn a spot on the short list of Trump's vice president ticket search.

He first saluted the other GOP contenders catching Trump's eye. They include: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Sen. Marco Rubio, (R-FL), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) among others.

"There are people on the Republican side who would make wonderful vice president," said Carson. "You need to have somebody who thinks out of the box. Who is original in the way that they do things and someone who is very supportive of the policies of the president."

While building up the GOP's No. 2, he took the opportunity to knock the Democrats.

"The other side doesn't have that, obviously, and they don't have very many choices," said Carson, suggesting that Biden's constitution is weak and he may not be healthy enough to make it through a second term, thereby setting up Vice President Kamala Harris to take over.

Carson contended that "Biden is very old; physiologically is he a lot older than 81.

Conversely, Trump, who just turned 78, is "physiologically... a lot younger."

"So, there's much greater chance that something will happen to Biden and that they don't have a good replacement for him," he said. "So, what we really need to concentrate on the Republican side, however, is making sure we get Trump into office, because they have already thrown everything, including the kitchen sink at him trying to get him out.

"They don't want to run against him. They don't want to run against his policies, you know, they tried to gag him. I mean, this is the most ridiculous thing that's going on."
