Russian military forces have established a base in a school building in the village of Moshchenoe, Belgorod region. Following a recent kamikaze drone strike, the soldiers' base was completely burned down, citing the Russian media Astra.

According to Russian media, the detonation of the kamikaze drone and the subsequent fire in the school building, where Russian servicemen were stationed, resulted in at least one soldier's death.

The abandoned school in the village of Moshchenoe in the Yakovlevsky urban district of the Belgorod region is the location in question. This settlement is located 25 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported the drone strike yesterday, June 25, on his Telegram channel. The Russian official said that the building of the former school in Moshchenoe was completely burned down as a result of the strike.

This educational institution has long ceased to function as a school.

"According to ASTRA's sources, one serviceman was killed and another injured due to the detonation and subsequent fire," reads the Russian outlet.

Russian media also reported that due to the drone strike, the fire in the building, and possible subsequent detonations, 200 people were evacuated from nearby houses.

Drone attacks, explosions, and fires in Belgorod region

The authorities of the Belgorod region, as well as local public forums, reported a drone attack in this region the day before. According to the Russian side, the city of Belgorod was hit by drones on the night of June 25.

Additionally, local Telegram channels mentioned alleged shelling in Shebekino, where a residential building caught fire after explosions. Smoke also rose in the village of Razumnoye.

It was also reported that recently, Russian media wrote about the strike on the Russian air defense system Pantsir-S near Belgorod on June 22. The local governor claimed that "grass was burning."

On June 23, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Defense Forces attacked the command post of a motor rifle regiment on Russian territory. The command post was located in the Belgorod region.

Earlier in June, Russian media reported a significant fire at an ammunition depot in the Belgorod region, resulting in the injury of Russian soldiers.
