Aberdeen CEO Alan Burrows confirms whether Celtic have made a bid for Bojan Miovski yet

The rumours surrounding Celtic’s interest in Aberdeen striker, Bojan Miovski, are simply not going away and as the transfer speculation ramps up in general, I would imagine this particular rumour is set to rumble on.

Miovski was one of the Scottish Premiership’s deadliest strikers last season with 26 goals in 53 appearances.

This is all the more remarkable considering The Dons were hovering just above the relegation places for much of the year before securing seventh place after the top-six split.

And after Celtic learned how much it could cost to get the Macedonia international this week, Aberdeen CEO, Alan Burrows, has confirmed whether or not the Parkhead club have made a bid for the 25-year-old.

Burrows doesn’t want to lose Miovski amid Celtic interest

Linked to Celtic in December, the chatter surrounding a Paradise move has never let up as Burrows admits that he knows Aberdeen could lose their star man if the price is right.

Burrows said [Sky Sports Scotland], “There’s been no offers. The transfer window at the top end has been a little bit slow maybe owing to the Euros.

Bojan is a player who has been phenomenal for Aberdeen Football Club and his team. He’s had two fantastic seasons, he’s a player who’s ultimately going to land in one of the top five leagues. Of that, I’ve no doubt.

“In my opinion, and maybe I’m a little biased, but pound for pound I think he’s the best striker in the Scottish Premiership.

“We don’t want to lose him but also operate a player trading model here. We understand that the nature of the beast is that if somebody does that well for that prolonged period of time it’s going to cause interest from other clubs.

“But my message to Aberdeen fans and to the football world in a sense is that as much as we operate a player trading model, with two years left on this contract, we understand that there’ll be people looking at him now but it has to be right for Aberdeen Football Club.”

Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers, has already admitted he is a fan of Miovski but at £7m, could that price be a little too rich for the Hoops board?

But with Rodgers also keen on signing Adam Idah, the Celtic manager must decide who he thinks he should spend the Parkhead club’s Champions League millions on.

I suppose it comes down to simply this. Who does Brendan Rodgers think can make a better impact on the European stage? Then and only then can he decide who, if any, out of the two he will go ahead and sign this summer.
