The next batch of ammunition purchased from third countries will arrive in Ukraine in July, Euractiv reports.

"According to representatives of the Czech government, further deliveries are scheduled for July, and by the end of the year Ukraine should receive about half a million rounds of ammunition," the report says.

The Czech government does not disclose the origin of the ammunition.

Ammunition for Ukraine

Earlier, Czechia launched an ambitious initiative to purchase 800,000 artillery shells for Ukraine from non-NATO countries. The plan was to deliver the first batches of ammunition in May, but the implementation faced unforeseen difficulties.

Initially, it was assumed that Czechia would handle the procurement and delivery of the shells on its own. However, finding suitable suppliers in third-world countries proved to be a challenge.

In addition, there were logistical problems. Delivering large quantities of ammunition across international borders is a complex and expensive operation that requires careful planning and coordination with numerous authorities.

As a result, the first shipment of shells arrived late in June.
