The Russian Defence Ministry and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced late on Tuesday that each side had released 90 war prisoners to the other.
The exchange was mediated by the United Arab Emirates, they said.
Prisoners released from Ukraine boarded buses heading home.
The last exchange between the two countries was on May 31 when each side swapped 75 POWs.
