Number of battles increased to 71, Russia uses aviation in Kupiansk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

As of 4 p.m., the number of combat clashes on Russia-Ukraine frontline has increased to 71 since the beginning of the day. The Russian military is attacking with the support of aviation in the Kupiansk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the onslaught of the Russian occupation forces. As of now, the number of combat clashes has increased to 71," the report says.

Frontlines updates

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russians attacked with no success six times during the day in the areas of Vovchansk and Lyptsi. Two battles are currently underway near Lyptsi.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy is attacking with the support of aviation. Five enemy attacks near Stelmakhivka, Synkivka, and Berestove have been repelled so far.

In theLyman sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces positions were attacked eight times during the day. Three more firefights continue in the areas of Makiivka and Nevske.

In the Siversk sector, fighting continues near Bilohorivka and Spirne.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russians are attacking near Chasiv Yar. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has tried four times to push Ukrainian units from their positions.

The number of attacks in theToretsk sector increased to six. Ukrainian troops are currently repelling five enemy assaults, and another attack near Dachne has been stopped.

The Pokrovsk sector is the most intense. The enemy has already attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 20 times in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha, Vozdvyzhenka, and Prohres. Currently, 11 more battles are ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, fighting continues near Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka.

Situation at front

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian soldiers succeeded in the area of Vovchansk, where they regained lost positions in the city. Meanwhile, Russia may have formed another combined arms army to be deployed in Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv sector.
