VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is joining Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart, two newspapers in the southern German city reported on Wednesday.

The Guinea forward scored 28 goals in the Bundesliga last term to help Stuttgart stun the Bundesliga and finish second. But he has an exit clause in his contract and can leave for a reported €18 million ($19 million).

The Stuttgarter Nachrichten und Stuttgarter Zeitung newspapers reported that the 28-year-old had activated the exit clause and was in the final stages of signing for Champions League runners-up Dortmund, who only finished fifth in the German top flight.

AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal had also been in the hunt for last season's Bundesliga second top scorer, reports said.

His loss would be a big blow to Stuttgart, who have already seen centre back Hiroki Ito leave for Bayern Munich and risk watching defender Waldemar Anton join Guirassy at Dortmund.

Stuttgart said earlier that their aim next season was to finish between ninth and 12th in the Bundesliga.

The arrival of Guirassy at Dortmund would also complicated matters for Germany striker Niclas Füllkrug, who scored 12 league goals for the Black Yellows last term. Fellow striker Sebastien Haller was already widely expected to leave Nuri Sahin's Dortmund.

There have even been reports that Füllkrug may be interested in a swap deal with Guirassy.
