Lithuania's State Defense Council has supported the decision to allocate at least 0.25% of GDP to support Ukraine, according to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.

"Today at the State Defense Council meeting, we agreed to allocate at least 0.25% of GDP for security and defense support to Ukraine. Lithuania will continue to stand firmly with Ukraine until victory. We will always support freedom," said Nausėda.

Lithuania's support for Ukraine

Lithuania is one of Ukraine's main allies, which has been supporting Kyiv since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. In particular, Vilnius provides not only financial and humanitarian aid but also military assistance, for example:

  • Lithuania has recently transferred 14 M113 armored personnel carriers as part of the demining coalition;
  • in April, it delivered M577 armored personnel carriers, air defense systems, ammunition, and other military equipment and ammunition.
