Seamus Hughes, a senior researcher at the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center, has sorted through recent court documents and found that a bad review of a diner led to finding a potential assassin.

The suspect in question, Troy Kelly, was arrested this week after threatening to shoot President Joe Biden.

“Gonna put a bullet in your head if I ever catch you," the 19-year-old Crown Point, New York, resident posted on social media last month.

The court documents show his X account @CountryBoyTroy0, which is still active as of publication. On it, Kelly makes a number of threats against the president. He also incorporated insults and phrases from former President Donald Trump that were often used.

Investigators said that they were able to link Kelly's email address to his X account, as that same email address left a Google review for the Cobleskill Diner, displaying his full name. He said that the seafood always makes him ill.

Local WCAX News reports that the Kelly even told the Secret Service he posted the threat because it was "true."

When asked if he still wanted to kill the president, Kelly confessed, "If I could, I would."

"Kelly later expressed displeasure with Biden and his son, Hunter, calling them 'a disgrace,'" the Times Union reported.

Hunter Biden was convicted of three felonies related to the purchase of a revolver in 2018 while he was using drugs.

The state police also seized two black-powder rifles from the defendant, who is under "an extreme risk protective order."

Kelly is expected to appear in a hearing on Friday. If he is convicted, he could get up to five years in prison.
