North Korean state media reported Thursday the country successfully conducted the previous day a test of intermediate-range ballistic missiles carrying multiple warheads.
In the test, warheads carried by solid-fuel ballistic missiles separated and were guided correctly to three targets, according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
The agency labeled it "of great significance" toward bolstering the country's missile ambitions and that the "technological test has entered a full-scale stage."
South Korea's military said on Wednesday that North Korea fired a ballistic missile from near Pyongyang toward the Sea of Japan, but the projectile was believed to have failed as it apparently exploded mid-air.
