Reported Rangers striker target drops Ibrox transfer clue on Instagram as fans wait on update

Hamza Igamane is the name on every Rangers supporter’s lips.

The young Moroccan striker is reportedly closing in on a £1.7m switch from local side FAR Rabat as Rangers get ready to bolster their frontline.

It’s certainly needed.

With Kemar Roofe leaving the club at the end of his contract and Fabio Silva returning to Wolves, Rangers have big gaps to fill in the attacking areas of their squad.

Throw into the mix links between Cyriel Dessers and a move to Greece and suddenly reinforcements become essential.

The only thing is, Rangers fans probably thought Hamza Igamane would be in the door by now.

Igamane drops Instagram transfer hint

As the reports surrounding Hamza Igamane intensified, it was suggested that Rangers could announce a deal at the beginning of this week.

But as is so often the case in transfer season, things are never as they first appear.

Or at least as they’ve been presented.

Fast forward to the end of the week and we’ve barely heard a peep since the weekend regarding Rangers’ interest in the Moroccan hitman.

And now Hamza Igamane’s Instagram activity has given a clue as to why the seven-goal striker’s switch to Ibrox is still pending.

Sharing an image at a location in northern Brazil, it appears like Igamane is still enjoying some pre-season downtime before any move to Rangers can be completed.

Whilst we’re wary that these photographs can often be uploaded after the fact, the snap could give a clue as to why a switch to Glasgow remains pending.

In a snap shared by Moroccan left-back Driss Tetouani, who plays for local club Mouloudia Assa, Igamane can be seen enjoying a fresh drink with some friends.

The location has been tagged as the White Palace in Salinopolis, a beach resort town north of Belem on the northeast coast of Brazil.

The snap was reshared to Hamza Igamane’s official account on the 26th June alongside two red love hearts.

Rangers need striker reinforcements

Igamane’s Instagram activity certainly provides a clue regarding the links to Rangers.

There is nothing to suggest that the striker’s move to Ibrox is off the table but for the time being the forward looks to be enjoying the off-season.

And enjoy it now he might because if Hamza Igamane does complete a move to Rangers, he better be ready to roll up his sleeves.

Ranked as one of football’s best young strikers by a leading football data company, there will be sizeable expectation from the moment the forward walks in through the door.

The games are set to come thick and fast for the Ibrox side and with much work to be done this summer, the nerves around the club are palpable.

At the top end of the park Rangers could be going into the new campaign with Danilo as the only recognised striker as things stand.

And the Brazilian is coming back off the best part of year out with a knee injury.

With Rangers now back at pre-season training, the situation around Abdallah Sima also continues to raise a few eyebrows.
