Hoath thankful for Romeo support as six leave Thatcham Town

Thatcham’s young attacking midfielder Harry Hoath will leave the club ahead of next season.

As announced by the club on Monday, Hoath will depart along with Harvey Harry, Jordi Ebanda, Basim Mirtahmasebi, Jay Welch and Josh Blackwood.

Hoath was nominated for Young Player of the Season at the Berkshire Football Awards in Reading last Thursday, finishing as runner up.

Eight goals and four assists for the twenty year old marked a standout season, his first at Step 4 following a move from Holyport last summer.

“To be compared to the other nominees feels good!”, said Hoath.

“I know a few of them, they all had unreal seasons.

“It was the supporters who put me forward, so I really appreciate them.

“For my first season at Step 4, it was a great achievement to make the list.”

Former Thatcham Town youngster Harry Hoath celebrates

Hoath was keen to thank his now former manager Yashwa Romeo for his help throughout the season.

“I’d say the first few games were still an adjustment period.

“The tempo was a bit quicker and it was a better standard.

“Yashwa was really helpful, throughout the whole season.

“He understands non-league inside and out.

“He’ll tell you how it is, he’s the most honest manager I’ve played under!”

For Harry, it’ll be a new environment for the new season, as he continues to balance his football with Uni life at Oxford Brookes.

“I study Business Management, I’ve just finished my second year.

“So now I’m relaxing and prepping for the new season!”

Hoath wrote on X following his exit from the Kingfishers:

“Massive thanks to everyone at Thatcham Town, was a really enjoyable season for me, looking forward to next season”
