Night trains from Berlin to Paris and Brussels cancelled for weeks

Overnight trains running from Berlin to Paris and Brussels have been cancelled from mid-August to the end of October due to construction work on the rail network in Germany and France.

The route is operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The night train between Vienna and Paris will also be temporarily suspended by the construction.

The connections will not be offered between August 12 and October 25, ÖBB said in a statement. It said no tickets had yet been sold for the routes over this period.

The overnight service between Berlin and Paris started last December amid a broader revival in European sleeper trains.

Three journeys a week from Berlin to Paris were originally planned by ÖBB. Recently, however, fewer connections have been offered.
