Today, June 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels for a visit. He will sign three more bilateral security commitments, according to the President's Telegram channel.
Ukraine has recently officially launched negotiations on membership in the European Union (EU). Today, during Zelenskyy's visit to Brussels, he will take part in a meeting of the European Council and thank the leaders of the bloc's member states for supporting Ukraine on its path to integration.
In particular, during his visit, Zelenskyy will meet with EU and member state leaders hold bilateral talks, and sign three security commitments, one of which is with the EU;
"It (the security agreement with the EU - ed.) will for the first time enshrine the commitment of all 27 member states to provide Ukraine with broad support despite any institutional changes inside," he adds.
Security commitments
On June 19, the President's Office announced that the text of a bilateral security commitment with the EU had been approved. The agreement was later approved by the EU Council.
Each of the agreements has common features and is valid for 10 years. In general, the security guarantees provide support to Ukraine in several areas, including humanitarian, financial, and military. At the same time, partner countries also provide individual commitments in terms of economic, defense, and other capabilities.
