Number of battles on frontlines in Ukraine rises to 71, Russians active on 2 directions

As of now, the number of combat engagements has increased to 71. Russia is most active in the Toretsk and Kurakhove directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sectors

In the Kharkiv sector, fighting continues in the area of Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk sector, the number of Russian attacks increased to 5. 2 of them, in the area of Stepova Novoselivka, are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, fighting continues in the vicinity of Makiivka and Nevske. Since the beginning of the day, Russia has tried to advance in the area 5 times.

In the Siversk sector, fighting continues in the area of Razdolivka and Vyimka. The number of Russian assault actions here has increased to five.

In the Toretsk sector, Russians are attacking the areas of Pivnichne and New York. In total, Russia tried to push Ukrainian defenders back 16 times. 6 combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russia is attacking the areas of Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka. Russia has already tried to improve its tactical position 15 times but suffered losses.

5 Russian attacks were repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

Situation at front

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russians in many areas and repelling constant attacks. However, Russians managed to advance slightly near Kupiansk.

Also, over the past day, June 26, according to Ukraine's General Staff, Russia's losses amounted to 1,260 troops. In particular, 3 Russian tanks, 9 armored combat vehicles, and more were destroyed.
