Dayton (Ohio) Northmont On300 edge rusher Cedric Works announced his commitment to head coach Mark Stoops and Kentucky on Thursday.
The four-star Works chose the Wildcats over Penn State, Cincinnati and Florida. He took his official visit to Lexington last weekend.
Works becomes commit No. 13 for the Wildcats in the 2025 class.
“With Kentucky I believe in the staff to develop me,” Works has told On3 in the past. “It’s a program I definitely think has the ability to develop me.”
There is a lot to develop.
The On3 Industry tabs the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Works as the nation’s No. 19 edge rusher and No. 143 prospect overall. He becomes one of the jewels of this 2025 class alongside fellow four-stars in running back Marquise Davis and safety Martels Carter.
Vince Marrow was the lead recruiter for Works.
Kentucky looks like they’re about to go on a hot streak. Others that the Wildcats are trending for on the On3 RPM include Frankfort (Ky.) Western Hills On300 defensive lineman Javeon Campbell, Trotwood (Ohio) Madison offensive tackle Jermiel Atkins, Columbus (Ohio) Franklin On300 cornerback Dawayne Galloway and Coconut (Fla.) Monarch offensive tackle Bryan Auguste.
Prior to Works commitment Kentucky stood at No. 27 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. With those touted players leaning towards Lexington, a Top25 class is looking strong for Stoops and his staff.
