Three Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon

Three fighters from Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Thursday, according to the Israeli military.

One fighter was killed on Thursday afternoon when an Israeli drone hit his motorbike in the Bekaa valley in eastern Lebanon, security sources and Hezbollah said.

The Iran-backed movement announced the death of Ali Ahmed Alaa El-Din from the town of Sohmor, but did not give details to when and where he was killed.

The Israeli army said it "eliminated a Hezbollah fighter involved in launching drones against Israel." The army did not give further details.

On Thursday evening, the Israeli army said it had killed two further Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon's al-Tiri in an airstrike.

Hezbollah fired some 35 rockets at northern Israel in the evening, according to the army. Most of the missiles were intercepted and no one was injured, it said.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, there have been daily military confrontations between the Israeli army and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah and other groups in Lebanon.

Recently the fighting had escalated significantly. There were deaths on both sides.
