Basically, it’s an analytical sports data platform responsible for ranking the most diverse categories present in the game.
The company is well known and is a reference for those who follow the league and those who do similar work.
With three months left until September, the PFF has already started work and is publishing its rankings.
On Wednesday, the ‘top-10 returning head coaches entering 2024’ was released and Andy Reid, unsurprisingly, took top spot.
Kyle Shanahan, coach of the San Francisco 49ers, came in at number two. The top three ended with John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens.

In Gordon McGuinness’ ranking, the analyst mentions Patrick Mahomes alongside the HC almost as if the two were one person.
His justification for putting Reid as the best coach relates directly to the quarterback.
“Pairing Reid with Patrick Mahomes has been a cheat code that has led the Kansas City Chiefs to four Super Bowl appearances and three Super Bowl wins. On offense, they have ranked inside the top five in EPA per play every season from 2018-2022, even predating Mahomes’ arrival. They dropped to 12th last season, but with some significant improvements at the wide receiver position, expect them to be back inside the top five again in 2024.”
The Chiefs signal-caller has obviously taken the lead in the ranking of the NFL’s best QBs not only in this but in recent years.
In addition, the Kansas City team has secured good positions in almost all the PFF standings.
The term ‘cheat code’ used by the analyst to describe Reid-Mahomes is the way to enshrine the success of the NFL’s quasi-current dynasty.
