GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Zyon Pullin is staying in the state of Florida. The Gators point guard has signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat as an undrafted free agent.
Pullin set a school record last season with a 3.77 assist-to-turnover ratio, the best by an SEC player this century. He became Florida’s first point guard to earn first-team All-SEC honors since 2018 (Chris Chiozza).
“It was special,” Pullin said of his lone year with the Gators. “I appreciate this coaching staff and these players for embracing me. The season didn’t finish the way we anticipated, but I can’t be more thankful to put this jersey on.”
Pullin led the Gators with 162 assists and ranked second on the team with 15.5 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds per game and 30 total steals. He tallied 512 points to become part of the first trio in UF history to all post 500 points in a season, along with Walter Clayton Jr. (633) and Tyrese Samuel (500).
Pullin and Clayton also gave Florida its first backcourt with multiple All-SEC performers since 2012-13. Pullin scored double figures in 23 straight games to start the 2023-24 season, the longest such streak to open a UF career.
