Baseball: Imanaga throws quality start, Suzuki gets RBI in Cubs' win

Shota Imanaga had a quality start without figuring in a decision and Seiya Suzuki hit an RBI triple as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 5-3 after 10 innings Thursday, ending their four-game skid.

Imanaga allowed all his three runs in the sixth inning that tied the game at Oracle Park, where he otherwise had a solid 93-pitch effort, giving up five hits and two walks.

The rookie lefty bounced back from his disastrous last outing on Friday when he got pounded for 10 runs over three-plus innings against the New York Mets.

"I keenly felt in the last game that this isn't an easy world where you can win while limiting your output level," said Imanaga, who remained 7-2 for the season.

"I wouldn't cut it here unless I keep generating power at these levels. It really was a good learning lesson."

Nico Hoerner hit a two-run home run and Suzuki tripled to right as the Cubs led 3-0 in the third. A Jorge Soler ground-rule double, an Imanaga wild pitch and a Luis Matos infield single tied the game before an Ian Happ two-run shot restored the Cubs' lead in the 10th.

"I had a good swing (with the triple)...It was great the team won," said Suzuki, who also had a double in the eighth to go 2-for-5.
