Rene Hake release clause, how much Manchester United must pay to secure appointment

Manchester United are set to strengthen the club’s coaching staff by appointing another senior figure.

Erik ten Hag is set to add Rene Hake to his Manchester United coaching staff along with Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Hake is the currently Go Ahead Eagles manager, and attracting him into Ten Hag’s support staff once ahead re-affirms the attraction of working at Manchester United.

The Dutch club are not expected to stand in Hake’s way, however, there is a financial cost involved.

Rene Hake release clause

Manchester United must pay a fee in compensation to Go Ahead Eagles to terminate Rene Hake’s contract early.

Fortunately there is no silliness involved here, like how Newcastle have demanded millions for sporting director Dan Ashworth, a situation still in limbo.

According to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Manchester United simply have to pay a release clause in Rene Hake’s contract with Go Ahead Eagles, which he renewed last October.

The cost to United will be ‘a few hundred thousand euros’, a relatively insignificant fee, similar to the weekly wage once paid to Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is claimed that Go Ahead Eagles have known for a few days that Manchester United intended to hire Rene Hake, despite the news only breaking 24 hours ago.

Manchester United welcome additional support for Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag won Ineosseal of approval after an end of season review.

Normally, a coach who has won two trophies in two years, the first manager to do so since Sir Alex Ferguson, would have automatic job security.

But there were serious issues which cropped up in Ten Hag’s second season. While he may attribute an eighth-placed Premier League finish to injury problems, there appeared to be coaching deficiencies too, with the team losing league 14 games.

Rather than ripping it up and starting again, Ineos are looking to build on the positives, like winning trophies and bringing through youth talent, and adding extra coaching know-how and backing for Ten Hag, strengthening him, and adding fresh voices and ideas.
