England take on Slovakia in their first knockout match of Euro 2024, with a place in the quarter-final up for grabs.

The group stages of Euro 2024 have come to a close and the knockout phase has kickstarted in the tournament.

Gareth Southgate will be looking to go one further with England this time than in the previous iteration of the European Championships – where the team ended up runners-up to Italy.

The Three Lions haven’t been at their fluid best so far, with difficulty in the final third causing some unrest amongst fans and pundits alike.

One win and two draws saw the nation through the group stages though, with the hard work ahead of them now.

Slovakia stand in their way for the knockout stages, following their shock victory over Belgium to secure a place in the round of 16.

England’s clash with Slovakia will take place on Sunday, June 30th with a kick-off time scheduled for 5pm (BST).

Arena AufSchalke is the stadium playing host to the match, which is the home of Bundesliga 2 outfit FC Schalke.

For viewers in the UK, the match will be broadcast by ITV, with the TV channel ITV One showing all of the action from England v Slovakia.

Southgate will be hopeful of having a full squad at his disposal when England take on Slovakia in the round of 16.

Luke Shaw could return from injury, having made his way back to training in recent days, though there’s uncertainty surrounding whether he will be involved straight away.

Phil Foden left the England camp during the week due to an urgent family matter but is expected to rejoin the group before the clash with Slovakia.

Slovakia head into the tie in good spirits and with a clean bill of health in their squad, coming as a boost to their chances.
