A teenager has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school.
The incident happened near the entrance to The Charles Dickens School in Broadstairs shortly before 8.30am.
It involved a teenage girl and one other vehicle.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene at the entrance to the school.
Kent Police has now confirmed the casualty has been taken to a London hospital by helicopter after sustaining injuries.
The A255 Broadstairs Road has also closed in both directions between Green Lane and St James Avenue following the incident.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) have been contacted for more information.
The Charles Dickens School has more than 1,000 pupils on its books aged between 11 and 16.
