Title favourites Spain go into their Euro 2024 last-16 game with outsiders Georgia on Sunday full of self-confidence.

"I haven't seen anyone who has played better. As a team, there is no one better than us," winger Nico Williams told Spanish newspaper Marca on Friday.

"France have great individual potential. England too. But as a team, in terms of sacrifice, there's nobody like us. I think we have one of the best teams in the European Championship. I could emphasise the strength, presence and passing of Rodri, who is an incredible player, but I think the whole team plays very well and is very coordinated."

The 21-year-old from Athletic Bilbao, together with Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, who is only 16 and on the other wing, are regarded as the Spaniards' most promising talents.

Williams also referred to the 7-1 win over Georgia in a European Championship qualifier last September.

Back then, Yamal became the youngest debutant and goalscorer in the Furia Roja's history at the age of 16 years and 57 days.

"You could tell that we were both looking for each other. We did some great things in that game," Williams said.
