Russia strikes Odesa region with Iskander missile: Consequences revealed

Russian troops attacked the Odesa region with ballistic missiles on 28 June. The Southern Defence Forces of Ukraine have reported the consequences of the Russian attack.

"This afternoon, Russia fired a ballistic missile, presumably an Iskander-M with a cluster charge, at the Odesa region," the statement says.

According to the Ukrainian military, a wheat field caught fire as a result of the hit.

"The fire is being extinguished. There was no information about destruction or casualties. Damage is being assessed," the Ukrainian Defense Forces adds.

On 28 June, at around midnight, an explosion occurred in Odesa.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of ballistic missiles from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. At that time, an air alert was declared in the region.
