Ukraine is actively working to ensure the NATO summit, which will take place in July in Washington, is successful for everyone. The country is considering participation in several platforms, citing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar.
"Everyone is indeed working now to make this jubilee NATO summit successful. Successful for everyone," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Ukraine is considering participation in several platforms within the framework of the NATO summit.
"The platform regarding the Patriot air defense coalition. This meeting will definitely take place. And we are working on the outcome, as I have already said, on the outcome regarding the appropriate number of Patriot systems for Ukraine," the president said.
The second platform, according to him, is a serious package of support for the Ukrainian military.
"The third issue is the meeting of all security guarantors. All those who, while we are on the path to NATO, are guarantors with a strong document. There will be an appropriate meeting, and we will see what the results will be. Starting from Vilnius, we established the Ukraine-NATO Council, there will also be a meeting, and we expect a strong document there. We are working on this," Zelenskyy added.
NATO summit in Washington
The NATO jubilee summit will take place in Washington on July 9-11.
According to the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the event will focus on developing a "roadmap" for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.
Recently, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the NATO summit in Washington will be very good for both the Alliance and Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna said that Kyiv expects strategic decisions from allies regarding air defense.
