Bishop’s Stortford fire crew assists police after car hits Thorley Park home

Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed that no arrests were made following a car crash in Thorley Park.

The incident happened at the junction of Calverley Close and Friedberg Avenue just after 1pm on Tuesday (June 25).

The force was alerted at 1.18pm after a Volkswagen Taigo hit a house. Witnesses reported that a passenger in the vehicle left the scene.

A constabulary spokesman confirmed: “Police were called at around 1.18pm on Tuesday, June 25, to a report that a silver Volkswagen Taigo had collided with a fence of a house at the junction of Calverley Close and Frieberg Avenue, which has also caused damage to the house.

“Officers attended along with colleagues from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service. There were no injuries and no arrests made.”

A spokesman for the brigade said its crew was called at 1.32pm and added: “One fire engine from Bishop’s Stortford Fire Station was sent to the scene, where firefighters assisted with scene safety.”
