Insane tidal wave of West Ham activity sees 11 players linked in one day

An insane tidal wave of West Ham United transfer activity has seen no fewer than 11 players linked in one day.

It’s been clear from the moment it was confirmed David Moyes was leaving that West Ham were casting their net far and wide for signings.

Indeed technical director Tim Steidten and new head coach Julen Lopetegui were even working on targets before the end of last season.

The Hammers already have two in the door in the shape of teenage Brazilian sensation Luis Guilherme and back-up goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

Now West Ham attentions have turned to another six or seven signings in the summer transfer window, depending on how many non-essential first team players can be offloaded for decent fees.

We reported last weekend that the club’s transfer activity had burst back into life after a brief lull.

But nothing quite like today.

Insane tidal wave of West Ham transfer activity

It started with it being all but confirmed West Ham would be signing Arsenal defender Luis Brown – grandson of Hammers legend Ken and son of Academy of Football chief Kenny.

Then came news that Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has actually been offered to West Ham.

The centre-back represents 100 per cent profit for Chelsea, who are looking to sell to help their PSR cause.

A big rumoured target of recent weeks has been Portuguese attacker Jota Silva.

There was a development today when it was reported West Ham have ‘agreed personal terms’ with Silva.

Fenerbahce centre-back Jayden Oosterwolde was next, with claims the Hammers are on of six clubs bidding for him.

The Times reported that West Ham will be signing talented youngster David Chig from Man City.

Never a dull moment at West Ham as 11 players linked in one day

The same report also stated the Hammers are in talks to bring right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to the London Stadium as part of the conversations over Flynn Downes going the other way.

Majid Balogun – a young forward from Man United – was then confirmed to be signing for West Ham by club insider Sean Whetstone.

Aftonbladet reported that the Irons are interested in 21-year-old Swedish defender Samiel Dahl.

Still with us?

The Hammers finally woke up and entered the running for Aaron Wan-Bissaka according to The Times. But there is strong competition from Turkey for the 26-year-old right-back.

This evening came news that Steidten has submitted what is the ‘biggest bid yet’ to Metz for Georgia’s Euros star Georges Mikautadze.

Lyon’s Irish centre-back Jake O’Brien – who has been linked for a number of weeks – came flying back onto West Ham’s radar with claims an official approach has been made.

Two things are certain here.

The first being that West Ham won’t be signing all of those players.

And the second, for the avoidance of any doubt, is that there’s never a dull moment with West Ham United.
