Tonight at Nashville Superspeedway, Clint Bowyer did not have the best finish. It might be enough to get him back in a car or truck. This apparently won’t be the last NASCAR race for Bowyer, folks.
When you don’t do as well as you expect, it can make you want to try again. Failure will keep you coming back for more. Clint Bowyer seems to be thinking that way after a P17 finish at Nashville.
After getting out of his truck, which was damaged on a Stage 2 restart, Bowyer vowed to be back.
“Well, it was just that. We fought loose in the whole time from the word go and I know from a lot of years of experience that’s hard to overcome,” Bowyer explained. “You fix that and it hurts something else and that something else is usually exit. We just kind of fought back and forth. I stalled it on pit road. … That [Daniel] Dye, I think I passed him earlier in the race, he run up front. Shouldn’t have made a mistake, put us back there in the back and then I don’t know what the hell happened on the restart, they all checked up, it was dead stopped in front of me, and I crashed, Mike. Tore my toy up.”
Now, it’s on to Broadway to get some beer.
“That’s exactly where I’m going and I won’t stop at A beer after that,” Clint Bowyer continued. “But I will be back, I promise you there’s no way in hell I’m ending on that note.”
Clint Bowyer came into this weekend hoping for a strong run. He was racing in a Spire truck and there is an expectation that he should do well. Had he not stalled out on his pit stop going into Stage 2, perhaps things would have been different.
While Bowyer didn’t finish strong, he should be proud. He got out there and put himself in an uncomfortable position. Things did not work out how he imagined they would, but he was out there racing again.
Fans loved seeing Bowyer at the track. He received a huge applause during driver intros. There is no doubt that NASCAR fans want to see him give it another try. So, I’d take him at his word, he will be back.
Since he didn’t get the strong finish, I think it is a win-win overall. Clint Bowyer gets to race a truck again in the future, hopefully, and fans get to watch him in a NASCAR race. Even if he was screaming and cussing on the radio, I think Bowyer had some fun.
