Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien to discuss the steps to deliver the Patriot air defense system.

"We appreciate the latest critical US decisions to support Ukrainian strikes on military targets in Russia, to prioritize Ukraine in air defense ammunition supplies, and its work with third countries to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities," Kuleba wrote.

They also discussed the supply of additional Patriot air defense systems. They also discussed joint efforts to provide Ukraine with additional weapons and ammunition.

"Upcoming NATO summit in Washington and its expected outcomes were on the agenda, too," he said.

Patriot for Ukraine

Recently, Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk said that thanks to assistance from partners, Ukraine is closing the gap in military capabilities with Russia, but needs more air defense systems and long-range weapons.

In particular, Romania announced its decision to transfer its Patriot system to Ukraine, but the exact date of the transfer was not disclosed.

Ukraine will receive another Patriot system from the Netherlands. This supply will also be joined by another country, which decided to remain anonymous.
